Seeking Divine Mercy: A Prayer for Forgiveness
Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a heavy heart, acknowledging my shortcomings and the weight of my sins. Lord, I understand that I have fallen short of Your glory and have strayed from the path You have laid before me. I ask for Your mercy and grace to wash over me, to cleanse my heart and soul from the stains of my wrongdoings.
Forgive me, O Lord, for the times I have acted out of anger or resentment, for every harsh word I have spoken, and for the moments I have chosen pride over humility. Help me to let go of the burdens I carry and to seek reconciliation, both with You and with those I have wronged. Teach me to forgive others as You have forgiven me, to show compassion and love even when it is difficult.
I pray for the strength to face my faults and the courage to acknowledge them. May Your Holy Spirit guide me in my reflection, revealing the areas of my life that need Your light. Let my heart be soft and receptive to Your correction, and may I find solace in the knowledge that You are always ready to forgive.
Lord, I ask for a spirit of humility that allows me to seek forgiveness from those I have hurt. Help me to approach them with sincerity and a willingness to make amends. Transform my heart so that I may genuinely express remorse and take the necessary steps to rebuild trust.
As I seek Your forgiveness, I also release any bitterness I hold against others. Teach me to see them through Your eyes, understanding their struggles and weaknesses. May I be filled with a spirit of grace, reflecting Your love and mercy in all my interactions.
Thank You, Lord, for the promise of redemption and the hope that comes with Your forgiveness. Help me to remember the depth of Your love for me, a love that forgives and forgets. May I walk in the light of that truth, free from guilt and shame, and empowered to live a life that honors You.
I pray this in the name of Jesus, my Savior and Redeemer, who taught us to seek forgiveness and to forgive as we have been forgiven. Amen.
